Life Insurance in a Qualified Plan

This classroom CE course will focus on life insurance as part of various qualified retirement plans, including profit sharing plans, traditional defined benefit plans, and 412(e)(3) plans. The goal will be to highlight the benefits of these scenarios and typical objections to having life insurance in a qualified plan. Advanced Gifting Techniques using Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts

This classroom course is intended to provide an in depth study of gifting issues and potential solutions when funding irrevocable life insurance trusts. The rules and limits will be discussed in detail together with the gifting strategies that are used and what facts make them effective or not effective. A case study will be presented illustrating the concepts discussed. Social Security & Medicare: Understanding The Benefits

This course introduces the basic concepts of Social Security and Medicare and will educate attendees on the terminology used by the Social Security Administration. We will discuss qualifications for retirement benefits and filing decisions for married couples, widows and widowers, divorced individuals and singles. The taxation of Social Security retirement benefits is also included, along with the Windfall Elimination Provision and Government Pension Offset, both of which can reduce total retirement benefits. Medicare Parts A - D are discussed, including coverages, deductibles, premiums, and out-of-pocket costs. This also explains the Medicare Donut Hole and Medigap policies offered by commercial insurance companies.
